About Us

Since 2016, StuyPrep has worked with traditionally underrepresented middle school students to gain admission into NYC's specialized high schools. We have remained a quality form of supplementary education for students who may not have the financial resources to pay for SHSAT prep classes, which can be $1000+. The program promotes equity in the public education system, bridging the gap between students of different socio-economic and racial backgrounds. There is power in accessibility: the choice to attend whatever school a child dreams of, furthering their education and continued access to educational resources.

StuyPrep is led by a group of brilliant Stuyvesant High School students motivated to continue our legacy of democratizing education, and we always look to welcome new students and tutors on our journey.

Amy Shrestha

President

Hi, I’m Amy! I’m a senior at Stuyvesant who’s interested in math, physics, and coding. I can be seen spending my free time working on different hobbies like reading, folding origami, solving puzzles, and more. Trying out new things and challenging myself are my two favorite things! I’m super ecstatic to be leading Stuy Prep this year!

Sabrina Gao

Hello! I’m Sabrina and I am a junior. There are many things I love, some of which are art, piano, STEM, and fencing. I’m excited to be able to work with so many ambitious students at Stuy Prep and see them grow!

Dylan Lonsk

Hi! I’m Dylan and I am a junior at Stuyvesant High School. I have been tutoring with Stuy Prep in the past, and can not wait to do that again, as well as help make sure things run smoothly this year! In my free time, I love skiing, biking, cooking, and playing the cello! Looking forward to another great year of Stuy Prep!

¡Hola! Me llamo Benjamín. I’m Benjamin Xie, a sophomore at Stuyvesant High School. In addition to suffering through AP Chemistry and AP European History this year, I love tutoring and am excited for my first year at Stuy Prep. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing piano and flute.

Hi I’m Grace, and I’m a junior at Stuyvesant interested in web development and data analytics! I enjoy listening to music and taking photos on my digital camera. I’m excited to work with Stuy Prep this year!

Madeleine Villamil

Hey, I’m Madeleine! I’m a junior at Stuyvesant High School with a passion for biology and geography. I've been doing tutoring for a couple of years now, but I'm excited to do some behind-the-scenes work at Stuy Prep this year. In my free time, I love to skateboard, do puzzles, watch TV shows (a lot), notetake...I try to pick up a little bit of everything!
