About Us

Since 2016, StuyPrep has worked with traditionally underrepresented middle school students to gain admission into NYC's specialized high schools. We have remained a quality form of supplementary education for students who may not have the financial resources to pay for SHSAT prep classes, which can be $1000+. The program promotes equity in the public education system, bridging the gap between students of different socio-economic and racial backgrounds. There is power in accessibility: the choice to attend whatever school a child dreams of, furthering their education and continued access to educational resources.

StuyPrep is led by a group of brilliant Stuyvesant High School students motivated to continue our legacy of democratizing education, and we always look to welcome new students and tutors on our journey.

Sabrina Gao

President of Tutoring

Hi! I’m Sabrina. I help lead our team, plan our programs, and make free SHSAT prep more accessible and supportive for students across NYC. I’m excited to meet you!

Benjamin Xie

Vice President of Tutoring

Hello! I’m Benjamin Xie, a junior at Stuyvesant High School. I love tutoring and have worked with many organizations including Stuy Prep, Stuyvesant Summer Tutoring, and FRAP. I also am passionate about transit and urbanism and love exploring New York City. Outside of academics, I play the piano and flute.

Dylan Lonsk

Hi! I’m Dylan and I am a senior at Stuyvesant High School. I have been tutoring with Stuy Prep in the past, and can not wait to do that again, as well as help make sure things run smoothly this year! In my free time, I love skiing, biking, cooking, and playing the cello! Looking forward to another great year of Stuy Prep!

Fiona Chen

Hey everyone! I’m Fiona, and I’m a junior at Stuyvesant High School. I’m in charge of logistics and communications. I’m also part of the Metis Project, ARISTA, and the Stuyvesant Political Review. I like to take walks, listen to music, and play violin in my free time.

👋☺️I’m Daniel, a junior at Stuyvesant High School. This year I will be in charge of maintaining and updating the website! I’m part of various clubs at stuy, and I love tutoring and teaching others. I work as a tutor part-time and like making software for the benefit of myself and others. I program and play guitar in my free-time.

Hi everyone! I’m Kangsan, in charge of all media for StuyPrep. I also am a floater with the president, vice president, and secretary. In my free time, I love to play jam sessions with friends and cook, and I’m an intern at Brooklyn Public Library’s child education program.
